Oh, man. Locking your knees while walking is just asking for trouble.

Yeah but since she was walking, not standing it definitely wasn't in this case.

I remember Eddie McVey as an altar boy passing out from locking his knees. This website would seem to contradict your assertion.

I am going to start the rumor that she is pregnant

re: locked knees causing faint, from steadyhealth.com - I can say that I am pretty sure that locking his knees was not the cause. This can not make you pass out. By locking your knees you diminish the use of the muscles in your legs and this increases the blood return from the legs. Your heart has less blood returning to be sent to the brain as blood pools in the veins of your legs. By unlocking your knees you will be forced to use the muscles in the legs more in order to stay in the standing position. I don’t know how to explain this to you except telling you that there is no artery in the knees that gets blocked and causing this. For someone to pass out, it takes quite a long period of time standing with the knees locked. And even then, passing out is more associated with high temperature, just like passing out on hot days. I hope that I have gave you clear enough answer.
As to the girl at church, she was walking not standing, she hadn't been standing before hand and the heat was more likely to be the cause of any problem.

Gotta not lock those knees.

Bit of excitement at church today. Altar girl passed out and banged her head on the pew. Good to know how many EMT's we have at church. They took her out on a backboard, to be safe.

Three things to note:

1) My colleagues are awesome and really looking out for my best interest. Writing letters to the editors of journals and whatnot.

2) Payton was really funny yesterday when she sneezed in the oreo bag.

3) Lauren was really funny yesterday when someone, want to know the rules of Mencala asked, "what's the point of that game?". Lauren yelled, "TO HAVE FUN."

I don't know why you spell Indianapolis 'caledonia', but I won't be here I'm heading back to PA tonight.

So, I CAN still send Lauren's birthday card there. Thomas will be pleased to know that.

not sure why you keep calling Caledonia 'Bozeman' but last night Adrienne played guitar for us in the backyard while we practiced baseball and shared dinner with the neighbors.

Here in NC we played a really quick game of 500 -- three hands and Alyssa won. She called trump in all three and cleaned us up.

I don't know why you keep referring to Bozeman as PA, but tonight we're all gonna go down and stand in the rain to watch the Shakespeare in the Park actors cover their set in a tarp and cancel the show. Wine and soggy cheese will be served as well.

what is happening in PA this weekend? my friend might be heading down there and was trying to convince me to go visit you so he has company in the car.

After a week of playing three person 500 I finally won a game. It wasn't that I had that many great hands -- I did manage two good ones, but Alyssa and Nick took turns getting set so I slowly added a few points each hand. They said they just didn't want me to hate the game.
I'm ready to quit, but Nick wants revenge tonight.

Supposed to be 101 here today. Sounds like a good day for staying in the air conditioning. I've been doing that a lot this week.

The Today Show in Bozeman

If you can sit through the commercial, this is the group I volunteer with during the winter. There's also a second video that plays immediately after with even more donations. Pretty great for an organization that was requesting donations for kleenex and batteries this year.

The Doughers should recognize at least one face in there.
