Still in Montana.

back in Montana. alas.

messed up on the travel and checked-in only an hour and forty-six minutes before my flight, so they had moved me to "standby" on an over-booked flight. All the traveling for work paid off though - instead of getting bumped off the flight, I got bumped into first class for the long journey. Seats that fold into beds and three-course meals. Of course, you forget it all on the last leg of the trip when the pilot pulls up from the landing and says they're having troubles with the flaps.

Went to the Science Museum of Minnesota today. We saw the "Dead Seas Scrolls" exhibit. It was amazing to see and interesting to listen to the history of finding them and the scientific study of them. At the end they also had an illuminated bible that is being created for a monestary up here. They had several of the pages on display.

Congratulations Nathaniel and Merel! So glad to hear it.

I must say those batting stances look pretty darn good.

Beautiful day for a volleyball picnic graduation party on a Milwaukee beach. Congrats Leanne!

I don't want to alarm anybody, but the Hawks are 1 game away from the Stanley Cup Finals!

I stayed on my limb and waited for confirmation. Conrats to Merel and Nathaniel. I vote for Australia (both an island and a continent).

The building of twigs is a Patrick Dougherty creation. He's created things out of twigs all over the world. This one they were just completing today at the University of Minnesota's arboretum. The arboretum is a definite must see if you come visit RBO. There's something for everyone, lots of flowers, paths everywhere on the over 1,000 acres of trees, ponds, waterfalls, and the best maze I've seen out of shrubs and flowering bushes. The only down side is in good traffic it's an hour from RBO's and with all the construction going on right now it's an hour and a half minimum.

taod must have had insider info to get that one correct. Congratulations to Nathaniel and Merel. I'll enjoy a wedding on either continent.

Well I'm way out of the loop. Is that an announcement about something that happened or an invitation for things to come?

That just means that IT still has some chewing to get out of its system.
My dog ate my homework yesterday....how am I going to explain that to a roomful of budding administrators?

It is still an IT. Yes.

First vet visit went well. I no longer have a 10 month old puppy but a four and a half month old puppy. guess the first vet missed on that one.

I did say your dog would be welcome at my house provided it wasn't a beagle. So I guess as a beagle mix, it can stay in the garage.

Why did the tree feel lonely?

Because it was leafed out.

taod
5/18/10 12:29 PM
was it leafed out yet?

erico

I assume we are doing over/under a number of days? Also, are we getting a PhD or an extension worker to determine actual date of death? What was the age of the tree going in? Was it Sweet Delicious or Arkansas Black? What soil type are you in? Is current soil moisture level lower than the predicted value from the 2010 Farmer's Almanac? How many bands were on the first fuzzy caterpillar you saw this summer? I'll go $20 that you will hit it with the mower or mistake it for a weed before it bears fruit. Was your whole post just a metaphor for something else, such as the Washington Capitals 2010 Stanley Cup playoff run?

so I am taking wagers on the survival of my tree... I planted an apple tree this weekend and think I managed to rip off every root along the way because when I took it out of the pot and the burlap from around it most of the dirt fell off and left me pretty much holding a stick. I buried it anyway so we will see I guess.
