The building of twigs is a Patrick Dougherty creation. He's created things out of twigs all over the world. This one they were just completing today at the University of Minnesota's arboretum. The arboretum is a definite must see if you come visit RBO. There's something for everyone, lots of flowers, paths everywhere on the over 1,000 acres of trees, ponds, waterfalls, and the best maze I've seen out of shrubs and flowering bushes. The only down side is in good traffic it's an hour from RBO's and with all the construction going on right now it's an hour and a half minimum.

How many bands were on the first fuzzy caterpillar you saw this summer? I'll go $20 that you will hit it with the mower or mistake it for a weed before it bears fruit. so I am taking wagers on the survival of my tree... I planted an apple tree this weekend and think I managed to rip off every root along the way because when I took it out of the pot and the burlap from around it most of the dirt fell off and left me pretty much holding a stick. I buried it anyway so we will see I guess.
