You can tell that it's an Aspen tree because of the way that it is.

There was no driver. Chauffer is french for "to heat". Some of the original cars were powered by steam engines, and the person driving was also required to stoke the engine, thus they were called a "stoker" or, in french, a "chauffeur". Thus V was met by a radiator.

small pleasure from yesterday. Was picked up at the airport by a chauffer holding a sign with my name on it.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. In true Ohler fashion, puke buckets were out early this morning.

45 miles, outlasted the phone battery...

cheap phone photo... the lower ritz crackers came covered in salt. Other oddities for the week:
Target.com "undid" one of our gift cards without notifying us (just billed it to the CC instead). Merel caught it and had to call to get the gift card to go through. Then one set of items that showed up was wrong. When Merel checked online, the model numbers were wrong, and the representative on the fourth phone call suggested we'd just get back the wrong set again. (It being the fourth phone call because their system was down for the first three.) So we took the wrong items to the store to return, and didn't catch it until we got home that they kept $1 for themselves for each item as "other discounts". Then the mattress protector we bought on that trip just shredded on its first wash... so, maybe a break from Target for awhile.
Also, I managed to connect the positive terminal of the car battery to the metal vacuum line for the air conditioner with a metal socket wrench. The resulting circuit shot sparks wildly before melting both the steel wrench handle and the vacuum line. The resulting hole in the vacuum line managed to release all of the refrigerant in a loud hissing manner over a period of fifteen minutes. So, no air conditioning in the car now, but hey, it's winter.
Oh, and we assembled the crib to discover the front bottom piece had a large sticker facing out that declares "Inside Bottom", but Merel says she wants it that way, so we're declaring that a wash.

Trust me, I need them.
AO, I thought you were talking about playing over Christmas when you talked about frostbite. Hardcore! I played at-15F one morning... Then went and bought better gloves.
