Yeah, no, I definitely didn't get paid for my time lifting those logs....but then I have a log bed now...so maybe I did get paid.

The cost accountant side of me also wonders if he really factored all of his costs in that $3k quote. Lighting, heating, tool maintenance, tooling (drill bits, sand paper), morgage cost for space, vehicle maint for transportation of raw material and Finished Goods, temp labor in the form of wife/kids.

mom left about 1 but got stuck in a traffic jam immediately so I would anticipate her late there.

Opportunity cost is the forgone benefits of the next best alternative. That is, how would he be spending his time if he weren't building beds?

Please educate....opportunity cost of time...or is that something Frankie will learn in microecon next fall?

I don't know how long it's taking him, but I'm guessing Frank is underestimating his opportunity cost of time.

I bet some people would pay that much!

We can hardly wait for Grandma Sandy to get here! We made lasagna last night and it's ready to warm up when she gets here!!! Daniela said she would even eat a piece of the spinach lasagna.

Hahahaha, one of his friends asked if he was going to go into business making and selling log beds. Frank said he'd have to charge about $3000 a bed for as long as it took him.

Oh and I thought he's be looking for more people to make beds for.

The garage is still full with 2 more projects and my husband is still busy with activities in it, so I'd have to say the cool bed.

which part are you lucky for? Having a bed to sleep on, having your garage back, getting to see and do more activities with your husband now?

I am the luckiest woman in the world!

Wonderful, eventually we'll want everyone's itineraries so we can try to coordinate a greeter at the airport.

Took a sick day today, probably another tomorrow. Spent nearly all day on the couch.

Okay, I figured out my schedule for Prague. Fly into Prague on Tuesday, leave Sat. or early Sun. I haven't bought a ticket yet, but that's what I plan on doing.

The weather doesn't know what season it is this year.

Yesterday I was thinking I needed the backyard mowed today.

Lauren and I are home from a Girl Scout camping trip. The girls were great, we had a lot of fun, they made great progress on their Jr Scout journey and I am officially hooked on scouting. Can't wait to continue working with the girls through their future in scouting. Photos to come.

Nice day out with Aunt Diane and Uncle Barry checking out the New Salem area. It included a stop at Clayville. Wow! I'm impressed with all they've done to it. Some of the buildings are in better shape than when we used to go out there. The spring festival is May 19th and 20th. Anyone interested in going?

A woman of infinite jest.

in my mind, foreign travel has always involved a discrete bandoleer money belt. no amount of crime statistics or reason are going to take that opportunity away from me.

Our next pro-tip for travel to Europe:

Check with your bank to see if you can set up an account that has a card that can withdraw money in a foreign country (euros and crowns). Put only the money you expect to spend in this account. This should help minimize exchange rate costs and fraud risk.

I haven't tried this personally yet, but this is the advice I have gotten from most everyone. I would expect some delay in receiving the card via mail once the account is setup.

Hm, I misread that as the dentist looked promising. Fillings for everyone!

Good news to hear Merel

And everyone else: Please make sure you have your passports! It can take 10 weeks for normal processing!

I have visited several venues today and one looks really promising! The dentist and visits to three more venues are planned for tomorrow.
