and a parental lesson in patience this weekend... do not leave the 4 year old in the car while you peek into music lessons for a second. They will find the permanent marker someone left in the car and decorate your doors and seats.

Ok I messed up that post. Meant to tell esSO she rocks. I was hoping to see the webkins on all cousins XMas lists.

Wish the kids were closer. Patsy and I went down to see the "Halloween Exhibit" Sue Stewart puts up in her yard and garage. She has more than most stores do and a lot are action figures. It was great fun.

You rock.

ah, yes, and as I watched my talented children carve their pumpkins, how I wished I had bought one of my own so that I could answer Nico's question,"where is your pumpkin and Daddy's?". Alas, I must settle for the excitement of being able to use my NEW COMPOSTER!

Cricut, yes. But it was a difficult task nonetheless.
Webkinz have been added to the christmas lists.

Daniela, the oldest, steadfastly set in upholding the traditional rule set. She upholds her authority with the the established threatening symbolism of the black cat, and overtly extends this display with posturing outside of the artwork itself.

Thomas, the middle, not wanting to part with the traditional orange cut-out carving, all the while attempting to include his own identity with the use of modern caricature. His split desires pulling him in opposite directions leave him unwilling to commit to just one carving, unleashing a powerful mixture of new and old.

Nico, the youngest, with his ironic use of the established tradition of pumpkin carving to demonize the traditional establishment's corporate figureheads' induction of today's youth into a culture of consumption makes for a powerful statement, while the alternative use of a green pumpkin as his medium with superficial carvings with pinned on pieces forces the user to look behind the facade of their own long held traditions.

Overall rating: nice pumpkins.

The basket had 18 Webkinz. 'Won' is not a term I would have used.

While winning a basket at the fall carnival is always exciting, the alleged gambler in us is really more concerned about WHAT was in the basket. Was it a fruit basket? A cupcake basket? A basket full of balls, of sport? This is the information we really need!

well done. I have to laugh, because I've outsmarted even myself. My enemy, my foe, is an animal. In order to conquer the animal, I have to learn to think like an animal. And, whenever possible, to look like one. I got to get into this dude's pelt and crawl around for a few days. Who's the gopher's ally? His friends. The harmless squirrel and the friendly rabbit.

Wait! I'm buying them socks. I count on the aunts/uncles/cousins to keep them well stocked with toys.

Dang it, nto. The alternative gifts thing was my deal... now I guess I'll go with the aunt that buys them socks.

Thomas and Nico already found that the list is there. They have added lots of stuff from the toy magazine that came in the mail.

I have no kids' gifts to exchange, but since I'm not around most of my nieces or nephews much, I was considering buying them all memories instead. Maybe a kiva micro-loan so I can be the uncle that got them confusing alternative gifts.

also the Christmas gift list on the left is open for suggestions <---

Why on Earth would you want that? Then they can't hear you coming.

Yes...thanks for asking...we DID have snow today!
