Including such classics as Honey your coffee just doesn't taste any good and Happiness is a vacation away from your coffee.

Nathaniel and Frank took me to lunch at La Parilla. Guess who also came to La Parilla on his lunch break with his girlfriend. Apparently Frankie and I have similar tastes in lunch establishments.

It's the line we use with our internships. Yes, it pays close to nothing but you are gaining valuable experience!

So, I didn't get the university job I was seeking, but I got a new title....PSPP Academic Assessment Director. Yes, it does not pay more.

I remember when we did that horse-wagon trip in Yellowstone. It was so fun!
Had a great little Yellowstone trip this weekend. Did some heavy duty relaxing and went for a trail ride/steak diner.
Funny part of the steak dinner ride was that even though I got rolled on by a 900lb horse (lost his footing on the trail and fell on me), Sandy was the one who ended up in tears. Apparently her horse, which was more inclined to stop and eat rather than follow Sandy's commands, was not up to her standards of equestrian training. But I must say, the steak dinner was fantastic. We assured Sandy that that was what they did with uncooperative horses, and that cheered her up a bit.

Two letters of rejection in the last week. I'm starting to feel like trying to get an economics paper published is a lot like dating. Here's some analogies of rejection letters:
Academics - Your paper is poorly written and the model poorly done.
Dating - You're too fat.
Academics - The model should probably consider X, Y, and Z (which are irrelevant to the paper's point).
Dating - Maybe if you lost some weight.
Academics - The paper has a good point but needs to account for X,Y,Z (which are irrelevant to the paper's point).
Dating - You're nice and all, but you're just not right for ME.
Spent today at Phipps Conservator. There's something for
everyone, a scavenger hunt for the kids, flowers for grandma,
and lots of structures for Sarah and Edgardo. It was great
fun.
