Aunt Alice gave me a tip for our vacation a while ago. Instead of buying packs of water bottles buy the large jugs of water bottles that way you have less trash to deal with. So to add to that we should all bring reusable water bottles so you can take water to the beach, pool, concert, etc.

mso: interesting that you think ao is the one to beat.

Yeah there's a number of stores that I wouldn't buy anything at unless it was at least 40% off because you know it will be shortly.
Fireworks were great here in Mt. Pulaski. Actually the festival was really nice, too bad between the hot weather and the way it was advertised not a lot of people turned out. They had good attendance the first two nights of the alumni event, pretty poor the last night, but there were a lot more events around town and the one I made had almost no one at it, and it was in air-conditioning.

They like you to think you are getting a bargain. The fireworks are always buy one get one free.
Beautiful evening with a lightening show over the mountains, but clear in town for the fireworks. Always a treat to sit at Burke Park and watch the whole town shoot off their fireworks.

Yeah, those neighbors are NUTS. That is way too close to the house for my likes. They had four or five guys setting them off at a time. Plus, someone clarified to me that the guy said $4K "worth" of fireworks. They only paid $2K since it was buy one-get one free. Still more than I would spend.

Yes, that is my house. Had to rearrange and then paint to make room for the new breadmaker.

Thanks. -- but I did add a very important discussion forum

hey, I want to book a group event in advance. In the spirit of just picking a date I am going to go with Tuesday and I will organize it. We can do a dolphin tour or all day snorkeling. I added a column on Adrienne's spreadsheet to sign up on and will book the one with more people on the 8th.

Some really good music here in Mt. Pulaski today. Unfortunately it was in the 90's this afternoon so the crowds were small, good crowd on the square this evening, but not very many at the Christian Church Family Life Center to hear the Dixieland Jazz group, and they were fantastic.

It's a girls' week here! We just sent the boys to Oregon for Boy Scout camp. Planning on grilling out with some friends and walking up to Burke Park to watch the fireworks. Spent $80 on home fireworks...this should be a fun 4th!
