I knew it was a bad thing, but if it is the attic thing then I find it odd that it isn't happening on the other side of the house. Unless the sun melts the top snow faster on that side. I guess I will have to work up the courage to climb up into the attic. I found some site that suggested putting the salt in an old nylon sock and that would start the gutter draining.

Yes I used a pattern, but we used different interfacing than they called for. It would be easy enough to customize it. I'm thinking of making a smaller one for her too because I think this one is a little big for quick trips anywhere.
