  Agrobacterium tumefaciens is pretty amazing, actually. Once scientists learned how it worked, they used it to genetically transform many dicot plants. The bacteria inserts a chunk of its DNA into the plant's cells. So it's really the plant's own cells that are proliferating (with the foreign DNA in it). unknown
