Got my tickets to Prague last night. No plans to break my leg, but I am going mountain biking on Friday, so I will see what I can do.

Happy Birthday to Aunt Mary. If it's not already taken, here are some birthday wish suggestions:

1. Speedy recovery for those with broken legs.

2. End to irrigation head problems.

3. Extra heat shipped back to Texas where it belongs.

I added a comment to Tracy's photos. Now you will have to scroll through them to find it.

Sometimes violence IS the answer...like when I spent all morning finding broken irrigation heads and I was about to leave when a ninth irrigation head acted like it was also broken and I was at the point of frustration and pounded on the thing shouting NO NO NO and it fixed itself...pretty sure violence was the answer.
Sorry, though, doesn't seem to be the answer for Rex's problem, though.

Lesson of the day is don't do wheelies while clipped in. Bike came all the way up and over, and I went on my butt. I got one foot unclipped, but the other foot followed the bike down. Which was not at a natural angle to my leg. Ouch. Hurts just to describe it.

My trip just got trickier. Broke my right tibia and fibula last night in a freak/stupid mountain biking accident. Surgery tomorrow to fix the breaks and install some plates. Should be back in fighting shape soon! :-)

Home again, just in time for record high temps to settle in. I think we can handle low 90s.

That is really the only cheesy stop in my glorious home state, and we try not to claim it.

Edgardo's youngest sister just moved to Bad Kissingen. It is not too far from there. What does "Bad" mean in German? Surely it doesn't mean what it looks like in English. Also, our good friends just moved to Saarbrucken or Wadgassen, not sure which.

If you click on the map link, it seems you have to scroll down on the left and click "next" to see all 4 page sets of the trip. Anyone know how to merge the routes into one map?

Paul and I have been biking for a couple of days now and we still have a couple of days to go. Our adventures can be seen on this map. I have taken several pictures but since they are on the camera and I'm typing this on my phone I'll only be able to post them later.

We started on Monday in Gersfeld, I forgot to turn on the gps tracking till a couple of kilometers after we started. It rained must of the day but we still managed to bike 80 km (50 mi) to Schlitz. Even though the weather forecast was very bad for Tuesday it turned out to be a sunny day, we even got a little sunburnt. On our way we saw two huge mounds of Potassium. We managed to bike to Buttlar where it took us quite some time to find lodging, we were in former communist Germany and that was quite apparent. On Wednesday we took the"Kegelspielbahn" which used to be a train route, the tracks had removed, which was quite scenic. From there we headed to another former railroad track the Miselburgbahn. We ended up spending the night in a village called Findlos. Due to lots of rain (it stopped around one pm) we decided to change our plans today so we spent some time retracing our tracks, we took the whole Miselburgbahn all the way to Fulda where we also did a short bit the same as on Monday. About 10 km outside of Fulda I got a flat tire, so today we only ended up in Bad Salzschlif. Tomorrow we're heading South-West.

It's a long time since I put this many puzzles together in such a short amount of time. We're still working on the last one-- those blue skies can be the killer.
