no - counter clockwise. It just kept spinning the motor when I tried to loosen it. I just needed to use the pliers to hold the washer while I took off the nut, but never managed to do it. Made a friend come over to do it for me.

I have had no heat for more than a month, during that month I had about a week and a half with no hot water either. The repair man came when neither was working and said that my whole water unit needed to be replaced. A couple of days after the repair man came the hot water started working again, this was about a week ago. Today the heating started again. The repair man has not been here since his first visit when he said the whole unit needed to be replaced. I am hoping the problem was somewhere else and it got fixed.

I did not drop my bowl of oatmeal this morning...so this should be a better day today. I made sure of this by not eating oatmeal for breakfast.
