The day after Luke & Leanne's wedding is this WARRIOR DASH in Channon, IL. I think it would be a good test of one's strength and/or ability to recover from a hangover. I'm probably going to sign up for the 1 'oclock wave. Let me know if you're interested.

That's because we just bought a company... in the Netherlands... in Diemen... six blocks from Merel's apartment.

Just thought nto should know

Patsy and I just did a short walk around this side of town. The wind has picked up a little so it's not as nice out as it was when I walked to the store this morning. Still hearing stories about the drifts between here and Springfield. Tonight and tomorrow are just bitter cold in the forecast. We have less snow than in ao's pictures, but Matto might disagree since he was the one who actually shoveled it.

The snow plow finally came by. I think the last time it went down our street was last night around 8pm. Enjoy!

Sunny outside, but cold. At least it's stopped snowing for now. We only got nine inches according to Channel 3, one of the lower numbers for the area. Matthew shoveled out his side of the drive, and then the neighbor lent him his snow blower to get my side opened. Don't plan to drive anywhere today but I do hope it warms enough to walk a little this afternoon. I feel a need for exercise.

Nicolas gave Thomas a bloody nose last night. Just wondering if that will be the first of many.

41F with a rainbow this morning at the Y. Good start to groundhog day.

only lost power once last night. Snowing again this morning. They did plow this morning but I am guessing that will be it for today.

A balmy -10F right now with a crystal clear sky. Good thing the furnace is...oh wait, what was that clunk?

We got freezing rain. I don't think that's much better than snow. But maybe.

They aren't even plowing the rural roads in Logan County any more. Definitely a good stay at home night. Don't want to jinx things, but our power is still on. Cheryl McCue posted on facebook that it is out south of town. I bought kerosene yesterday, hoping that would keep me from having to use it.

Matto radar service says it is suppose to be below 43F and we are will receive at least 1.5" of snow over the next 72 hours.

Also, we are out of soda.

ISU was canceled today so I spent most of the day watching the blustery white whiteness outside my window. I hit up Meijer yesterday for my normal beginning of the week grocery shopping trip and there was zero produce and no milled flax seed. So I settled for eggs and chocolate milk. I think we still have another 6 hours of blizzard to go.

Bikram yoga is recommended to help you remember why you left. It's hard to breath in 100 degree heat, let alone do half moon pose.

V, Why did you move to NY again???

V

I walked around back and it is happening there too. I need to rake the roof more often and salt the gutters.

The sun should melt the south side much faster, that's why you ski the north slopes in early spring.

V

I knew it was a bad thing, but if it is the attic thing then I find it odd that it isn't happening on the other side of the house. Unless the sun melts the top snow faster on that side. I guess I will have to work up the courage to climb up into the attic. I found some site that suggested putting the salt in an old nylon sock and that would start the gutter draining.

erico

ice dams at eaves are usually an indicator of an attic that
is too warm. and you should take care of it sooner rather
than later. more here

Do you think it is a bad idea to throw sidewalk salt up into my gutters? The entire gutter is nothing but a block of ice.
